After lunch, we spent about an hour exploring Shirahama before the final section of the ride. I was feeling great and looking forward to another long ride when we mounted our bikes for the last leg of the tour. We left the seaside and headed inland. The countryside was amazing and we rode alongside vibrant green rice fields. The fields were dotted with cranes looking for their dinner and it was a wonderfully tranquil atmosphere. Seeing the graceful white birds taking off from the rice fields is something I never get tired of.

When I started to see signs for resorts and hotels, I knew we were nearing the end of our tour. It had been an incredible day and I didn’t want it to end. Jun and I stopped a few more times to enjoy the views as we again approached the seaside.

Our tour finished at Kashikojima Station and I was reluctant to hand over my helmet and say goodbye to my Bianchi road bike. Nobuko was waiting for us and I enjoyed a cold drink after a great day of cycling. My guides had delivered an amazing experience and I thanked them for all of their support.
