Family Farm Fun at Mokumoku in Mie

Family Farm Fun at Mokumoku in Mie

Why not try something totally different and great for all ages? When travelers come to Japan there is the list of must do’s, temples, sushi, samurai history– but sometimes the biggest memory makers will be something totally unexpected. I had a chance to explore food and local agriculture from a completely unique perspective and realized that there was so much to be gained from having experiences that are both global and special to Japan. The experiential farm of Mokumoku in Mie was so much fun and I know this would also be especially enjoyable for families!

Fun and friendly lodge and check in lobby for the farm cottages

Handsdown, my favorite thing about Mokumoku farm (in addition to the furry residents) was the warm and friendly staff. Everyone takes time to share their love for local products and make you feel right at home

Wonderful staff make you feel at home

Seasonal Sweets

Of course there are a lot of chances to try all of the ingredients and dishes at Mokumoku Farm too. You can visit the various restaurants and you can take away yummy products made and packaged right on site. Rice, fruits, soy beans, strawberries, bakery goods, Japanese sweets, local beer and soda, tofu, and there is even a market selling vegetables, fruits, and dried and fresh shiitake.

All in all, a visit to Mokumoku farm is a great way to see, learn, taste and do!
