Discover the Secret Power Spots Around Ise Jingu with a Rickshaw Ride
One of the best ways to get off the beaten track and learn more about the places that you visit in Japan is to take a rickshaw ride. I was lucky during my recent visit to Ise Jingu to experience this first-hand with a ride around the sacred shrine complex. Not only was it fun, but informative as well, as I could visit hidden spots that are not included in any travel guidebook. If you plan to take a ride, it is best to make a reservation in advance to ensure that the rickshaw is available. Visitors can try a short 15-minute ride, visiting one section (Oharaimachi or forest) for ¥3000 for one person, or ¥4000 for two.

How to Get There
From Nagoya, visitors can reach Ise either via a direct Kintetsu limited express train or JR rapid train from Nagoya Station to Iseshi Station. Ise Jingu Naiku is located about 4 km from Iseshi Station. You can reach the shrine via a short bus ride from Iseshi Station.
