In bloom from late February to early March

Nestled in Inabe City Agricultural Park, this 38-hectare plum grove boasts plum trees and a garden filled with flowering plum blossoms. Relish the spectacle of white, cherry-red, pink, and red hues from the viewing platform. Not only are plum blossoms aesthetically pleasing, but their sweet fragrance also announces the arrival of spring. A plum festival typically graces the park from late February.

At night the garden takes on an otherworldly appearance

In 2014, Suzuka Forest Garden blossomed into Japan's top weeping plum garden. Crafting the beauty of weeping plum trees is a vital element of Japan's traditional gardening vibe. This haven aims to preserve and spread the art of cultivation, nurturing around 200 plum trees, and among them stands Kureha Shidare, Japan's oldest weeping plum tree. March kicks in the magic – envision weeping plum trees transformed into pink snow-covered Christmas trees. And when night falls, the enchanting illumination turns the scene into pure magic.

Stroll along the Miyagawa River, flowing northwest of the outer shrine of Ise Jingu, and you're hit with a kilometer-long cherry tree bonanza called Miyagawa Tsutsumi every late March. Famous cherry blossoms include Someiyoshino and Yamazakura, and this spot is so beautiful it earned a place as one of the 100 best cherry blossom viewing spots in Japan by the Japan Cherry Blossom Association with about 700 trees in full bloom. Stroll along the tree-lined promenade or have a hanami picnic at Miyagawa Tsutsumi Park for an up-close encounter with beauty.

The entire park is a popular spot for viewing cherry blossoms as the chalk-white castle and the pale cherry blossoms are a must-see and are worth visiting on their own. Other popular attractions in the park include the Iga-ryu Ninja Museum, the Basho Memorial Museum, and the Haiseiden, built in honor of Matsuo Basho, the haiku master from Iga.

Saiku is a national historic site in Meiwa-cho, Taki County, Mie Prefecture. The fields of rape blossoms are in full bloom from late February every year. Just looking at the field of rape blossoms will fill you with energy. There are many opportunities for photography with the contrasting colors and lines of the sky and railroad crossing the rape blossom field, giving you ample chance for an epic photo time. If you visit in the fall, the area transforms into a pink field of cosmos flowers, making this destination spectacular no matter the season.
