There are many small paddy fields in the Maruyama area of Kumano City and it is called a thousand plate fields.
The landscape is wonderful, and it is said to be the best landscape of terraced paddy fields in Japan.
A small field spreads in and out several times, saying that "one is hidden under the shade hat" when thinking that one is missing, the number of which is about 1340 pieces.
Many events such as rice farming experience are held throughout the year, and conservation activities by local people are being held.
