An ancient temple of the Shingon sect with numerous halls scattered deep in the Aonominesan Mountains. It is known as a place of prayer for maritime security. The main deity is the golden eleven-faced Kannon, which appears in the legend of "Kannon riding on a whale. A grand festival is held at the beginning of spring, attracting many people to pray for safety at sea.
